Sharif, Venora in 'Eaters' - Omar Sharif and Diane Venora have whetted their appetites for "Eaters of the Dead," based on Michael Crichton's 1976 novel. According to Variety, they will join Antonio Banderas in the film an Arab courtier who goes with a group of Vikings to the North in 922 AD. Although the courtier is put off by the Vikings' barbarism, he ends up trying to save them from a fatal terror that is eating their flesh. Venora, who co-starred in "Heat," just worked opposite Bruce Willis and Richard Gere in "Jackal." Sharif starred in such classics as "Dr. Zhivago" and "Funny Girl." John McTiernan ("Last Action Hero") is directing the Disney project from Crichton's own adaptation.
